Falcorp Mangrove Park situated at the ancient and serene town of Ijala Ikeniren Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State is nature at is best.

A place preserved by Mr Henry Erikowa , an Itsekiri naturalist provides an opportunity to educate visitors about the ecological, medicinal, and environmental significance of mangroves.

The park has seen various visitors at different occasion and recently the Itsekiri Environmental Protection Initiatives (IEPI), and other Nigerian participated in the guided tour which provided an opportunity for attendees to explore the biodiversity of the mangrove ecosystem, appreciate its natural beauty, and understand its crucial role in environmental sustainability.

Exploring the Medicinal Value of Mangroves

Mangroves have been an essential part of traditional medicine for generations. During the tour, participants learned how various parts of the mangrove tree—including its trunk, roots, and leaves—are used in preparing herbal remedies. Some of the key benefits highlighted include:

• Treatment for Malaria & Typhoid: Certain parts of the mangrove tree are used to make herbal concoctions that help fight these common diseases.

• Bowel Cleansing: The leaves and roots aid in detoxification and digestion.
