Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, the Member representing Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency, has been named Chairman, House Committee on Students Loans, Scholarships, Higher Education Financing. Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
This, follows House of Representatives adjustments to the leadership of some of its standing committees.
This appointment is a testament to Hon. Ehindero’s unwavering dedication to education and youth development. His leadership in this role is expected to bring significant progress to Nigeria’s education financing system.
Ehindero accordung to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Blessing James Akeju promised to work assiduously to ensure the success of the scheme.
He said he would ensure transparency and efficiency in the operation of the scheme.
He said: “Education remains a critical driver of national development. As Chairman of this committee, I will work diligently with my colleagues, relevant stakeholders, and agencies to ensure that the Education Loan Fund operates efficiently, transparently, and in a way that truly benefits students across the country. We will also engage in necessary legislative oversight to strengthen the framework and implementation of the scheme.”
The Lawmaker also expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the House for the confidence reposed in him. “I deeply appreciate the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, and the entire leadership of the House for this appointment. It is a privilege to serve in this capacity, and I am fully committed to ensuring that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund fulfills its purpose of making higher education more accessible and affordable for Nigerian students.”
