Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Monday promised more development for the state.
The state marks its 49th anniversary on Monday. The state was among the seven states created in 3 Feburary 1976, thereby bringing the number of states from 12 to 19.
Ondo State, was carved out from the old Western Region under the military administration of General Murtala Muhammed.

In his anniversary message, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the state’s founding fathers for their “courage, foresight, and invaluable contributions towards making Ondo State what it is today,” highlighting the state’s journey towards “sustainable development and inclusive growth, with the potential to be greater.”
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building upon the legacies of past leaders, Aiyedatiwa emphasised, “My administration is committed to maximising the state’s potential for the benefit of all its people.”
The governor also congratulated the people of Ondo on the anniversary, urging them to continue supporting his administration as he steers the state towards a brighter future.
