An All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart and former Campaign Secretary of the party in 2015, Adamu Abubakar Modibbo, has dumped the party over it’s poor performance in handling the affairs of the country.
Adamu Abubakar Modibbo, popularly called ‘Comrade’, in his membership resignation letter sent to his Jekadafari ward and made available to our Correspondent in Gombe however thanked the party for opportunities given to him.
Though Comrade did not state which party he is shifting his loyalty to, he told our Correspondent in an interview that the APC has become a total disappointment to Nigerians since it was elected into power at the national level about ten years ago.
Speaking on where he is pitching his tent, Comrade Adamu said, “we’re making observations, studying the processes and making consultations and very soon we are going to unveil where we are heading to”.
According to him, people with principled progressive ideologies like him are not willing to stake their integrity by staying in a ruling party where the masses continue to suffer untold hardship because of the President’s stubbornness.
He alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been ruling Nigeria with impunity adding, “President Tinubu has taken Nigerians for granted. There were complaints about Buhari Presidency favouring only one part of the country but what is Tinubu doing now? Ten times more than what Buhari did.
“All the key sectors of Government are given to the south-west region and he says he is a democrat. Again, when your economic policies are not bringing out the desired results, you should come back to the drawing board and possibly amend the policies to sooth the yearnings of Nigerians. That is democracy. We are not in military regime”, he pointed out.
He warned Nigerians against falling into the hands of deceptive politicians in 2027 who will try to buy their votes with packets of rice, spaghetti, or wrappers.
