Finally, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) officially unveiled Éric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The unveiling ceremony of the 37th Super Eagles head coach was held on Monday, 13th January 2024, at the conference room of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The short ceremony was attended by prominent figures in Nigerian football, including Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, and Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi.
Chelle, 47, recently stepped down from his managerial role at the Algerian club MC Oran to assume leadership of the Super Eagles.
He came along with his backroom staff, First Assistant Hadi Taboubi, Fitness Trainer Thomas Gornourec, and Goalkeeper Trainer Jean Daniel Padovani.
The NFF had previously confirmed that Chelle will oversee preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
This assignment presents an early opportunity for Chelle to evaluate domestic talent and gain momentum as he prepares the team for the World Cup Qualifiers in March.
