Barely few hours after London based Premiership Club West Ham Utd sacked its manager, Everton, have dismissed its manager Sean Dyche after less than two years at the helm of Goodison Park.

The 53-year-old’s departure comes just hours before Everton’s FA Cup third-round fixture against League One side Peterborough.

The club announced on Thursday that under-18s head coach Leighton Baines and club captain Seamus Coleman will step in to manage the team for the match.

Four members of Dyche’s coaching staff—Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard, and Billy Mercer—have also left their roles.

In a short statement, the Merseyside outfit wrote: “Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men’s First Team Manager with immediate effect.

“Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the Club.

“The process to appoint a new Manager is underway and an update will be provided in due course.

“Under-18s Head Coach Leighton Baines and Club Captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis.”

Everton’s recent struggles in the Premier League have placed significant pressure on the club. The team currently sits 16th, just one point above the relegation zone, following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday. In that game, the Toffees failed to register a single shot on target and have won only three of their 19 league matches this season.

Meanwhle West Ham has appointed former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter as its new manager.
