A leading Sports promoter in Gombe State, Prudential Sports Limited, has unveiled an attractive package for outstanding players of two clubs playing in the Nigeria National League (NNL) after every home game.
Each Man of the Match, selected by a highly technical team of judges after each home game will get a plaque award, a designer Face-cap and a N10,000 package as a morale booster.
According to the Chief Executive of Prudential Sports Limited, Malam Farouk Yarma, a renowned sports enthusiast and promoter, the aim is to boost the morale of the teams into fighting for promotion to the Nigeria Premier League in the next football season.
Already, two players, Sani Suleiman from Doma United FC and David Jack Kere of Gombe United FC have benefited from the gesture during last weekend’s week four fixtures.
Sani Suleiman helped his side, Doma United FC, into defeating Adamawa United FC 2-1 on Saturday while David Jack Kere, who opened score for Gombe United FC during their duel with Barau FC on Sunday, stood outstanding throughout the match that also ended 2-1 in favour of the Inuwa Boys.
Malam Farouk Yarma told our Sports Correspondent at the Pantami Township Stadium where both games were played that Prudential Sports Limited will continue to contribute towards the development of football and other sports in the State.
Both Gombe United FC and city rivals, Doma United FC, played in the Premiership division last (2023/2024) season but were unfortunately relegated at the end of the season.
Both teams have so far started well, placing third in their various groups in the fourth week of the season. Managements of the two teams have all vowed their commitment in ensuring they return to Nigeria’s premiership football league at the end of the season.
End.
