El-Rufai Denies Defection To PDP

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has dismissed rumours suggesting that he has left the All Progressives Congress to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
Reacting to the speculation on his verified X account, formerly Twitter, El-Rufai urged Nigerians to ignore the false reports, describing them as “patent lies.”
“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” El-Rufai posted on Sunday.
Also a close associate of the former governor described the claims as the work of mischief makers.
According to the aide, El-Rufai, a prominent figure within the APC, could not have defected to the PDP without making it public.
