Rev. John Adeleke , Osun Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has adminished Nigerians to turn back to God so that God will heal the country of hunger and other challenges.
Adeleke made this admonition while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on the sideline of the Faji Community Crusade, organised by Community Christ Ambassador Evangelical Team (CCAET) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun.
He said the challenges Nigeria is facing today is because the people have turned away from God, saying a country where the people and their leaders are not righteous, there will challenges.
“What God is expecting is that every sinners should repent and turn to God.
“Most of the things that is happening is showing that God is not happy with us.
“Somehow we are experiencing famine and this is part of the prophesy of the last days.
“The only solution is that everyone should turn to God and have the fear of God.
“Sinners should give their lives to Jesus Christ and turn away from their wicked ways; I believe God is the God of mercy, he will show mercy.” he said
Speaking about leaders in Nigeria, he said most of the leaders do not plan or work to get to power and not care about the welfare of the people.
He said most political leader, however, find it hard to fulfill their promises to the people when they get to office, due to the kind of people they surround themselves with, the bad advices they listen to and sometimes, the power of dark forces.
He said another thing is, some leaders also rely and depend on their abilities and intelligence, while some also depend on forces which are not godly.
He, however, said whenever people minus God in whatever they do, they end up creating problems.
He said he desires and pray that everybody retrace their steps back to God, calling on our leaders to repent and turn to God.
