For his outstanding performance and selfless service to the ministry and state at large, an outgoing corp member, has been honoured with an Excellence award.
Presenting the award to the corp member, Dominic Oti, who served in the Cross River Ministry of Women Affairs, between 2023 to 2024 service year, the Commissioner, Hon Edema Irom, commended him for his humility, hardwork and commitment to duty, urging him not to relent as God is watching and would reward him accordingly at the appropriate time.
The Commissioner who went biblical argued that every labourer deserves his or her wages, emphasizing that every proactive energy put in for anything, can never go unrewarded as long as God, the Creator exists.
Irom also prayed God to provide a permanent employment for Oti in no distant time as he never exhibited any act of truancy during the service year.
Directors, departmental heads as well as other staff of the ministry took turns to eulogise Oti for his humility, punctuality and dedication to duty, while praying for open doors for him as he seek future greener pastures.
Responding, the outgoing Corp member, Dominic Oti, appreciated the Commissioner and staff of the Ministry of Women Affairs, for the kind gesture, hospitality and morals he enjoyed through out his stay with them.
Admitting that he learnt a lot during his stay in the Ministry and state, Oti who was emotional at a point, promised to put the knowledge so acquired into practice, in his future endeavours.
The event attracted the Director Women Development, Mrs Monica Udam; Director Nutrition, Dr. Helen Ejue; Director Administration, Mr. Hillary Agida; Head, Planning Research and Statistics, Mr. Moses Abam amongst others.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of the Excellence Award, free speeches and wise counsel, as well as group photographs.
