A new management for Gombe United Football Club under a renowned sports enthusiast, Malam Anas Bamusa, has been approved by the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The approval of the reorganization of the NNL Club which was conveyed by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi Friday evening, also has Mr. Ishaya Usman as the Club’s Team Manager while Comrade Abubakar M. Maina is the Club’s new Secretary.
According to the statement obtained by our correspondent, the appointment of the new leadership is intended to align with the Government’s objective of repositioning the football club for better performance and improving the management of sports in the state.
Professor Njodi said, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expects the new appointees to bring innovative ideas and leadership, as well as work in synergy with stakeholders to support the Government’s agenda in the sports sector.
Anas Bamusa, a versatile football analyst and commentator is expected to bring his vast knowledge in football administration to bare in repositioning the State’s darling team recently relegated to the NNL back to Nigeria’s elite football league.
Already, an elated Bamusa, has penned down a thank you message to the Governor for the honour to serve the State in the new capacity and declaring readiness to hit the ground rolling.
He said, the appointment is coming with responsibility which he promised not to take lightly. “I am fully aware of the challenges ahead, but I look forward to working tirelessly to contribute to the club’s success and to elevate Gombe United to new heights.
“My goal is to foster a culture of excellence that will resonate with our players, coaching staff, and fans alike”, Malam Anas assured.
He also stated that the continuous and unwavering support from the supporters of the club will be crucial. “As we embark on this journey together, I promise to invest my heart and soul into this role to ensure we achieve our aspirations.
“As I take on this new challenge, I am reminded of the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and dedication. With the backing of the Governor, the club’s management, and our beloved fans, I am confident that we will forge a path of success that reflects the spirit of Gombe State”, Malam Anas assured.
