There are pointers that protesters who were recently arrested for their various roles in the #EndBadGovernance protests have been released.

The Nation report on Sunday that the Director General of Department of State Services (DSS) on 19th September 2024, directed their immediate release.

The National daily quoted a source

It was revealed that six persons held in Kaduna had regained freedom having been cleared at the end of investigations.

Meanwhile, three are being prosecuted for established prima facie cases, the sources revealed.

“The DG DSS reiterates citizen’s right to peaceful protest as enshrined in the constitution and regard for the rule of law. He is resolute on upholding the mandate of the Service of decisively investigating and bringing to justice those who exploit such rights to perpetrate crime,” the source said.
