The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Monday called on Muslims faithfuls in the country to engage in sober reflection and pray for Nigerians.
This is as Muslim faithfuls join their global counterparts to mark the 2024 Eid el Maulud.
Director General of NOA, Mall. Lanre Issa- Onilu made the call in his felicitation message to the Muslim faithful, noting that Nigeria was in dire need of citizens and leadership that will exemplify the virtues of selflessness, tolerance, peace, love and fairness; virtues he said the Prophet Mohammed displayed.
Issa-Onilu in a statement by Mr Paul Odenyi, Deputy Director, Press also urged the Muslim ummah to rally its supplication to God for wisdom and guidance of President Ahmed Tinubu to take Nigeria to its place among the community of developed nations.
He further urged Nigerians to shun the temptation of using the public holiday to engage in any form of lawlessness, adding that government has put necessary measures in place to ensure that the lives and properties of Nigerians are adequately protected during the holiday and beyond.
