Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, Thursday announced that she disrupted an event in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
Kennedy-Ohanenye accused the organiser of impersonation.
The International Centre for Investigative Reporting, ICIR, uploaded a video on X. In the video, the angry minister was explaining that the organiser had been told to put the event on hold.
The programme was planned by Mela-Chiyoma PAT Limited.
Addressing participants and journalists, who were invited by the organizers, the minister said: “I am standing here to explain this to everyone. She (organizer) has been arrested.
“She should have reorganized herself, used her name to make the invitation, and used her name to do this. Not to use the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.
“I can’t allow this programme to go on because this is pure impersonation, and the President is not happy about it.
“I am saying it, let the media cover it. I don’t care. You don’t do this. You don’t take the ministry for granted. For what?” she queried.
The programme, which details were sketchy, was on women and food security.
