A minor fire incident has been reported at the Dangote refinery in Lagos on Wednesday, June 26.
The incident, NewsSpecng learnt happened at the refinery’s effluent treatment plant (ETP).
ETP is a specialised wastewater treatment system designed to purify industrial wastewater, making it safe for reuse and ensuring that water released into the environment is free from harmful pollutants.
The management of the reginery however said the situation has been brought under control.
The spokesperson for Dangote Refinery, Anthony Chiejina who confirmed the incident in a signed statement, said that the fire was quickly contained.
He therefore assured the public that there is no cause for alarm, as the refinery’s operation had continued, without interruptions.
He also said there were no injuries or harm reported among the staff on duty.
He said: “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday, 26th of June. “There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating, and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty.”
