Respite came the way of 20years old Abubakar Umar when the Chief Judge of Niger State Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik ordered for his release from the correctional center.

Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik who was at the Suleja FederalCorrectional Custody as part of her annual visit to decongest the center extended her kind hearted gesture to the inmates during a special court session.

However a mild drama occurred when the chief Judge ordered for his release from the correctional center immediately he fought hard to control the tears of joy as he was full of gratitude to the chief Judge for her kind hearted gesture of releasing him.

Abubakar Umar has been incarcerated in custody for the past one year without trial as his case file could not be traced in the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the Ministry of Justice.

The twenty year old Abubakar was alleged to have been standing trial by armed men of the Niger State Police Command since his arrest; he was just kept in custody languishing in custody.

Apparently worried by the way and manner some inmates were incarcerated in the correctional center without trial in court, the Chief Judge ordered the head of the Prosecuting unit in the State criminal Investigation department SCID Mr. Abdullahi Mayaki DSP to within one week transmit Case files of defendants to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution DPP for legal advice.

Equally, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik granted bail to five other Inmates awaiting trial at the Suleja FederalCorrectional Custody.

Those granted bail included Usman Falalu, Abubakar Sani, Mohammed Sani, Mohammed Sani Haruna and Blessing Omeka.

The state Chief Judge warned the discharged person ABUBAKAR Umar to always be of good behavior and avoid anything that will bring him back to the prison.
The discharged inmate Abubakar Umar who was shading tears of Joy expressed Satisfaction to the state Chief, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik for such a gesture and promised not to engage in any criminal tendencies.
