The Air Force Commander, 305 Special Mobility Group, Calabar, Air Commodore Chukwuedo Iloh, says since the assumption of the present administration in the state, issues of security have remained top-notch, offering law abiding residents a conducive environment to move freely.
Iloh who stated this when he paid a courtesy call on the Cross River governor, Prince Bassey Otu in Calabar recently, maintained that it was imperative to point out such observation in order to encourage the governor to do more.
His words: “Since the coming of Governor Bassey Otu, issues of security have been given priority. Now, residents can confidently move about their businesses in peace.
“If people are not saying it, we who are key security stakeholders should say it so that the governor would be encouraged to do more.
“We will give everything to make sure that Cross River remains peaceful and truly the people’s paradise,” the Air Force Commander assured.
Responding, the governor represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon Peter Odey, applauded his guest for the kind words, urging the Airforce Group to support his administration’s efforts in maintaining adequate security in the state.
Otu while commending the efforts and sacrifices made by all other sister security agencies in Cross River, affirmed that his administration will leave no stone unturned in a bid to make the state a no-go area for miscreants.
“I want to thank you all, on behalf of Cross Riverians, for what you have done and continue to do to keep residents of the state happy.
“We will not rest on our oars to ensure that those who voted us into office have peace,” the governor remarked.
Otu also explained that the serene nature of the state since his assumption of office May 29, 2023, has not only given boost to socio-economic development but has turned Cross River into an investment hub, as many investors are beginning to troop in for one engagement or the other.
