Otu makes 87 new appointments.

In fulfillment of his earlier promise to make new appointments that would help to steer the ship of governance, Cross River governor, Prince Bassey Otu, has announced 87 new appointees.
The governor had in a stakeholders meeting of the ruling All Progressive Congress in the state, held at the Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC), disclosed his intention to make new appointments in a few days.
CrossRiverians woke up this morning, Wednesday, to a list of new appointments which includes a former aide to immediate past Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Mr. Philip Oben, who is saddled with a new task as Special Adviser, digital economy.
Others who made the list are former commissioners including Dr. Jake Otu Enyia (Senior Special Adviser, Political Affairs), Peter Egba (Special Adviser, industries) and Dr Inyang Asibong (Special Adviser, Gender mainstream) among others.
For past legislators who also made the new list of appointees were, Dr. Ekpo Ekpo Bassey (Special Adviser, health), Prince Okon Ephraim (Special Adviser, transport) and Rt. Hon Nelson Ofem (Senior Special Adviser, local government affairs).
The immediate past deputy chief press secretary to Governor Ben Ayade, Linus Obogo, will accoding to the new appointment serve as Special Adviser, media and publicity.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Emmanuel Ogbeche, informed that the new appointees comprises of 38 Special Advisers, 35 Special Assistants/Personal Assistants as well as 14 heads of Boards and Agencies.
Ogbeche in the statement said, “Governor wishes the new appointees well and charges them to be diligent and bring their wealth of experience to bear in service to the state.
