President Bola Tinubu on Thursday harped on the need for the governors to be more people centred in their various policies and approach.
Tinubu theregore urged all state governors to spend the money and not the people.
The president said this in an emergency meeting with governors earlier today, Thursday, February 15, at the Council Chambers of the state House, Abuja.
One of the matters addressed during the meeting was the payment of salary arrears to civil servants and gratuities to retired workers.
While addressing this issue, he pleaded with governors to ensure all salary arrears to workers, and gratuities to retired workers and pensioners are cleared as a way to put money into the hands of the people since states are now getting more monthly FAAC revenue.
The president said: “spend the money, don’t spend the people”
