The posters show that he is vying for the position of the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a position currently occupied by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The current national chairman was elected at the August 3, 2023 National Executive Committee (NEC) of the APC to replace Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned from office.
Though, rumour has it that some people within the party were rooting for the position to still remain in the North Central, following the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu, the Immediate Chairman of the party.
Bello’s posters were seen on major streets in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), especially around the Federal Secretariat and on walls and fences of structures around the APC national secretariat on Blantyre Street at Wuse 2 in Abuja.
The posters of the former governor with his picture have the inscription: “APC Next Level. Alhaji Yahaya Bello as APC National Chairman. Leading the Change, Building a Stronger APC.”
