The jostling for the position of the coveted Ondo Staye deputy governor’s seat came to an end on Wednesday, as Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa announced Olayide Adelami, as his deputy governor.

Adelami who hails from Owo, Owo local government area of the state is a kinsman of late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The new deputy governor retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly l in April 2018.

He was also an APC governorship aspirant in 2020 but stepped down for the late Akeredolu.

The retired civil servant cum politician was first enlisted into the Federal Civil Service as an Accountant II in December 1983 and later posted to resume to the Treasury Department of the Accountant General of the Federation office.
