Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State has consoled with the victims and the people of Oyo State over the unfortunate explosion that hit Ibadan.
In his personal confirmed X page handle he wrote : “On behalf of the great people of Delta State, l send our heartfelt condolences, and commiserate with Governor Seyi Makinde and the good people of Oyo State, especially the impacted families of the horrendous explosions which rocked the city of Ibadan.
I pray the Almighty God comforts the families of the victims, the government and people of Oyo state in this their difficult time.”
It would be recalled that on Tuesday 16 there was an explosion that rocked Bodija area of Ibadan.
According to the Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde, preliminary investigations have traced the blast to the storage of explosives by illegal miners at a house on Dejo Oyelese Street, Bodija.
He said the ongoing rescue operations carried out by the security agencies, first responders, emergency services, and all other relevant agencies have rescued about 80 victims with almost 60 of them treated in private and teaching hospitals like the University teaching hospital UCH.
Three persons have been recorded dead .
