Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s ex-Minister of social development, disaster management, and humanitarian affairs, Sadiya Umar-Farouk Monday reported at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters.
Umar-Farouk had earlier asked for extension citing health challenges. But the EFCC on Friday turned down her request, instead gave her a three day ultimatum to honour the invite.
She was invited by the anti-graft commission over an alleged fraud.
The ex-minister would be interrogated regarding an ongoing investigation into the N37,170,855,753.44 that was purportedly laundered during her time in office through a contractor named James Okwete.
Confirming her arrival at the EFCC Headquarters, the former minister who happens to be one of closest to former President Buhari wrote on her X (former twitter) handle : “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating.”
