The Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, Aminu Yakubu Ladan has sealed three shops selling Liquor in the popular Kasuwan Gwari Market in .Minna, Niger State
Disclosing this via his X handle on Wednesday 20 December, he said “today I led a team that shutdown three shops selling Liquor in the popular Kasuwan Gwari Market Minna”
He said the action is meant to “contain all kinds of hard drugs and alcoholic drink dealers in order to stem the growing rate of carnage at motor parks, markets areas and our communities as well”
The chairman said , the Local Government “will set up a committee to put necessary measures in place to curb the sales in the council, eradicate and prosecute alcohol dealers not forgetting consumers of illicit drugs/substance.”
He said such “ugly situation could be attributed as one of the factors contributing to street fights and thuggery in Minna.”
