Trump Cancels Planned Testimony

Releated Post

Former President Donald Trump canceled his plans to testify Monday in his New York fraud trial, explaining in a lengthy series of Truth Social posts that he believes his earlier testimony has already proved his innocence in the case accusing him of falsely inflating his net worth in order to secure more favorable business deals.

KEY FACTS
Trump repeated his previous claims he “did nothing wrong,” citing “world renowned experts” he claims have verified the accuracy of financial statements New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office has claimed were intentionally, grossly inaccurate, he wrote Sunday in all caps on Truth Social.

He also reprised his frequent attacks on James, calling the prosecutors in the case “A.G. thugs” and claiming the case amounts to “a complete & total election interference (Biden campaign!) with hunt.”

Deriding his former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen—who told the court Trump directed him to change the value of Trump’s assets on financial statements—Trump called him a “sleazebag” and cast him as untrustworthy for admitting he lied in a 2019 congressional testimony, before his falling out with Trump, when he denied Trump asked him to modify the statements.
