Releated Post

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail.

Emefiele was granted bail by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama after about five months in detention.

Justice Olukayode Adeniyi admitted Emefiele to bail in a ruling.

He was handed him over to his lawyers, who shall produce him in court on November 15 when he is scheduled to be arraigned before another judge of the High Court of the FCT in a charge earlier filed by the EFCC against him and one other person.

EFCC finally brought the former Governor of the apex bank to the Federal High Court, Abuja after so much order.

The EFCC had failed to comply with the order of the FHC directing it to produce Emefiele in court on Monday or release him unconditionally.

Following the disobedience by the commission, the court restated its order and adjourned proceedings till Wednesday.

However, EFCC complied with the order as Emefiele was led into the court by heavily armed operatives.
