Members Of the JudiciaryPress Crew have been reminded to always guide against unprofessional conducts in the discharge of their duty in the overall interest of peace and National instability.
The Crew have also been charged to cross check their facts before rushing to their publication inorder to avoid misinformation stressing that Journalists as the mirror of the society have a duty to safeguard the interest of their noble professional code of ethics.
The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice,Barrister Nasiru Muazu made this known when members of Judicial Press Corps led by its chairman, Comrade Aidelojo Ojo paid him a courtesy call in his office
Barrister Nasiru Muazu emphasized that Journalists who are complete Gentleman to the Core are equally the watchdog of the society.
He stated that he initiated the formation of the Judiciary Press Crew during his days as the chief Registrar of the state High court for the members to be carry along in the coverage of the activities of the state Judiciary.
According to the Attorney General, if other arms of government like the State Assembly and the goverment house “it will not out of place for the Judiciary to have its own press crew for effective coverage of the Judiciary activities which informed my decision for the press crew for the Judiciary”
He then appealed to members of the crew to always see reasons to abide by the code of the ethical responsibility of their profession adding that the crew should call any of their erring member to order whenever they engage in act of professional misconduct.
The state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice maintained that Journalists are contributing immensely to the growth and political development of the state and the country in general hence the need for decorum, respect and unity of purpose amongst themselves.
Barrister Nasiru Muazu challenged them to always abide by the code of ethics of their noble profession in the discharge of their duties.
The state commissioner for Justice affirmed that as members of the fourth estate of the realm,the state Government and his ministry will work hand in hand with the media to project the good image of the Government at all times.
Barrister Nasiru Muazu then appreciated members of the Judicial Press Corps for the visit and I hoped that the good cordial relationship existing between them,the ministry as well as the Judiciary itself would continue.
In his brief remarks,the Chairman of Judicial Press Corps,Comrade Aidelojo Ojo said they deemed it very necessary to visit him and to congratulate him for a well deserved appointment.
Comrade Ojo assured that members of the Judicial Press Corps under his watch will exhibit a high sense of professionalism and decorum in the discharge of their responsibility as Journalists.
He appealed to the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Barrister Nasiru Muazu to always avail the Judicial Press Corps of his functions and activities of the ministry for prompt,timely objective and effective coverage .
