His Excellency Olef Scholz the Chancellor of Germany Sunday afternoon arrived Nigeria on a two day working visit.
Scholz aircraft touched down at about 2.20pm Nigerian time. He was received by His Excellency Nyesom Wike, Honorable Minister of FCT on behalf of President Tinubu at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, in the presence of top Nigerian government official.
He is already in a meeting with President Tinubu and would later be meeting with the ECOWAS Commission President, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray according to his itinerary made available by the German Embassy in Abuja.
Besides, the Chancellor is also expected to visit Lagos to open a Nigeria-German Business Conference organized by the Nigerian-German Chamber of Commerce.
While in Lagos, he will interface with representatives of Nigerian civil society as well as with Nigerian start-up entrepreneurs.
Along with the delegation, Chancellor Scholz will take part in a tour of the city of Lagos to gain insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by a megacity such as Lagos.
The visit is coming barely three days after President Tinubu’s victory at the apex Court.
The German Embassy in a statement made available le to Diplomatic Correspondents in Abuja said the purpose of the visit is to strengthen the over 60 years bilateral relations between both countries.
