The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), Thursday announced Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano, as the party’s National Chairman.
Former spokesman of the senate, Senator Basiru Ajibola was also appointed as the party’s National Secretary.
NEC disclosed this at the meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were present at the 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party.
Addressing party leaders after his emergence, Ganduje thanked the President and promised that internal democracy would prevail in the party during his tenure.
The ex-Kano governor pledged to ensure a scientific register of party members and pay utmost attention to election management and conflict resolution.
Ganduje, in his promise to ensure victory for the party in all forthcoming governorship elections across the country, announced his determination to hit the ground running.
During his address at the 12th NEC of the party, the President emphasized that the APC had already secured election victories and now it was crucial to deliver on the promises of providing good governance to the Nigerian people.
