The Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), has praised the exceptional leadership of Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, the Executive Vice-Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
ALTON Chairman, Mr. Gbenga Adebayo, commended the NCC’s commitment to quality regulation, attributing the success of the telecom industry in Nigeria to the regulatory environment it enjoys.
Speaking at a meeting in Lagos, Adebayo expressed pride in Danbatta’s administrative skills and described him as an excellent administrator who has played a crucial role in the growth and development of the telecom industry.
Danbatta shared details about the implementation of the Expanded Revenue Assurance Solution (ERAS) project and emphasized the collaboration between the NCC and the Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
The ERAS project aims to optimize revenue collection by licensed telecom service providers, aligning with the government’s directive to enhance revenue collection and prevent leakages in ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
Originally focused on telecom operators, the project was expanded to encompass the activities of Digital Economy stakeholders.
The implementation of the ERAS demonstrates the NCC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and financial efficiency in the telecom and digital services sectors.
