A 30-year-old man, Pascal Onyebule, was, on Friday, arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court over alleged fraud and breach of peace.
Onyebule, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge of fraud and breach of peace.
The Prosecutor, Insp Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between March and June in Ado-Ekiti.
Adeniyi said that the defendant collected the sum of N100,000 from one Patience Ndibe under the pretence of marrying her.
He also said that on June 20, at about 4:00 p.m., at Ajilosun Area in Ado-Ekiti, the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by posting the nude picture of the complainant on Facebook.
According to him, the offences contravene Section 295 and punishable under Sections 302 and 252 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The Magistrate, Dolapo Olorunlogbon, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Olorunlogbon adjourned the case till July 31 for hearing.
