The State Security Service, SSS has arrested the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
NewsSpecng gathered that the suspended CBN boss was picked-up about one hour after the announcement of his suspension by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
The embattled CBN governor had been in a running battle with the secret police for a long time.
The SSS had wanted to arrest him before the 2023 general elections but for the protection of the army who shielded him.
The SSS had even gone to court to secure an order to effect Emefiele’s arrest for alleged terrorism financing.
When contacted, the Spokesperson of the Service Dr Peter Afunnaya declined comment.
