..insist on contesting for speakership
The last may not have been heard about the Speakership of of the 10th House of Representatives.
One of the aspirants for the coveted seat, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, insisted to throw his hat in the ring rather than accept the decision of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The APC had settled for Abbas Tajuddeen and Benjamin Kalu as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively
Bit this has not gone down well with Gagdi who promised will issue an official statement regarding his aspirations ahead of the inauguration of the 10th House.
Gagdi revealed that he is currently in consultation with other aspirants in the race as well as national leaders of the party.
He disclosed that he has visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu three times in three days concerning the race.
Gagdi informed his Twitter followers that he is in talks with fellow candidates about the future and will make a declaration once discussions are finalized.
He said: “Within the last 72 hours, | have visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu three (3) times at the Presidential villa on one on one meetings that all together lasted for more than one hour.
The discussions have to do with my ambition of becoming the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives and the Leadership issue of the 10th Assembly.
“I thank Mr. President for this honour and unique show of love to me and to the good people of Pankshin/Kanake/Kanam Federal Constituency”
“I appeal to my supporters, Honorable Colleagues in particular to remain calm as I am in deep discussions and consultations with my fellow aspirants and some national leaders.
“After all deliberations, an official statement will be issued in this regard. Thank you my father and Mr. President”.
