Sale Kabo, a 30-year-old resident of Bandila village in Yobe State, has been arrested by the Gombe State Police Command for cattle rustling.
The stolen cattle were estimated to be worth a whopping N7 million.
According to the command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, Kabo stole the cattle from Funakaye Local Government Area of the state.
The case was reported by 75-year-old Jauro Ahmadu of Shuwari village in Bajoga in Funakaye LGA to the Bajoga Divisional Police headquarters.
Ahmadu reported that his 21 cattle, valued at N7 million, were stolen from his village at night.
According to the Police PRO, the Divisional Police Officer detailed his personnel to commence an investigation and they immediately swung into action, while rustlers to stay away from Gombe State as officers have been equipped with the requisite to end their activities.
Abubakar said, “After conducting a thorough investigation, Sale Kabo was arrested in connection with the theft which he confessed. All the stolen cows and other relevant exhibits were recovered.
“The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.”
