A motorcyclist, Bayo Akinfenwa, has been ordered by a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Akure to be remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter.
The incident occurred in March 2023 at Ayeyemi Akintunde Street in Ondo State.
Akinfenwa was arraigned on a one count charge of rape and did not plead guilty.
According to the charge, the offence contravenes Sections 357 and 358 of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, 2006.
The prosecutor applied for his remand at Olokuta Correctional Centre, pending the issuance of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
The case has been adjourned till May 25, 2023, to enable the defendant file a counter affidavit to the application.
