The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) had said that the commission plays a critical role in addressing complaints from members of the public against discrimination in the placement of HND and BSc holders in the civil service.

The commission made this known during a stakeholders workshop, organised in Abuja, to help enlighten the public on its progress in addressing complaints of the discrimination.

While speaking on the dichotomy, the organisation said it has led to the discrimination against HND holders in the civil service, resulting in limited career advancement opportunities and reduced salary scale.

According to the agency, disparities has been a contentious issue in Nigeria for several years, which needs urgent intervention by the major stakeholders in the country.

However, the commission noted some critical stakeholders responsible in addressing the discrepancies included; Ministry of Education, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Universities Commission (NUC), Civil Service Commission and Professional Bodies.
