The Central Bank of Nigeria has extended deadline for the swapping of old naira notes till February 10, 2023.

According to the S.A on Digital communications, Bashir Ahmad, President Buhari received a briefing from the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, today in Daura, Katsina State.
He said after the briefing, the Governor announced that the President approved a 10-day extension of the deadline for the return of old currency notes (200, 500, 1000).
“there will also be a 7-day grace period, beginning on Feb. 10 to Feb. 17, 2023, in compliance with Sections 20(3) and 22 of the CBN Act, allowing Nigerians to deposit their old notes at the CBN after the February deadline when the old currency would have lost its Legal Tender status”
