Heavy Police Presence at the Osun Tribunal
…Tribunal to deliver judgement today
There was large deployment of security operatives across strategic points in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Friday, as the Election Petition Tribunal set to deliver its judgement.
The All Progressives Congress and ex-Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, is challenging the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The road leading to the court house ,was seen barricaded by police operatives, making traders , students along the axis to trek a distance to the various destinations.
Security operatives were seen at the Osun State secretariat of the PDP and that of the APC, as well as the state office of the APC presidential campaign in Osogbo.
They were a selected few who were allowed into the court house.
25 people each from both parties, Journalists and lawyers were given access into the court room after thorough screening.
We await the outcome of the proceedings
