A group, 21st century youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience, 21st CYNDAC has threatened to withdraw its support for Governor Nyesome Wike governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, should the governor fail to adhere to its demand.

21st CYNDAC, which had expressed concern over Wike’s endorsement of the newly inaugurated board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC despite the court order, amongst its demands requested the governor to ask the NDDC board to publish the forensic audit report.

Besides, the 21st CYNDAC in a statement also demanded for the probe of the two past sole administrators of the Commission.

21st CYNDAC made the demands in a statement signed by it’s Coordinator,  Izon Ebi.

The statement reads in part:

“The 21st CYNDAC perceive that as a desperate and shameful move to hoodwink the Niger Delta people into accepting them,  like people that mean well for us.

“We want to use this medium to express our disappointment with the esteemed Governor of Rivers State,  Nyesom Wike , who we respect as the mouthpiece and Conscience of the Niger Delta region.  It beats our imagination how a lawyer by profession,  whose wife is a judge,  allows his well respected self to be associated with an illegal NDDC board formed and sworn in,  despite a subsisting court order?

“21st CYNDAC therefore called on governor Wike to exonerate himself from this pseudo board by urging the board to make public the report of the NDDC forensic audit .

“Call for the probe of the tenure of Mr Nsima Ekere to that of Mr Effiong Akwa.

“Make public the amount of money released to the NDDC for the past seven years plus of president Muhammadu Buhari administration.

“In continuation, we the 21st CYNDAC warns that any failure by governor Wike to act in accordance with the above suggestion will lead to immediate mobilisation by the 21st CYNDAC , like minds and Rivers youths against the preferred Governorship candidate and his party in the forthcoming election.

“It is exceptionally apprehensive, infuriating and denigrating,  that Mr President will ignore highly respected individuals with impeccable characters in the Niger Delta and decided to impose his core political loyalists on Niger Delta people which the pair has ignored for the past seven years plus.

“The 21st CYNDAC cannot fold her arms or close her eyes and mouth,  while evil thrives in the Niger Delta.  NDDC should cease to be a cash cow for funding elections by the government at the centre.
