Sam Empowerment Foundation (SEF), a Non-Governmental Organisation, has reiterated its commitment in ensuring quality education for less-privileged children, especially at the rural communities for the development of education in the country.

Mrs Kiema Ogunlana, Project Director, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), shortly after the commissioning of a two-block classroom (Primary school) attached with an administrative block at Gova Community in Kuje Area Council, FCT.

Ogunlana said the foundation was committed to improving the quality of life of the less-privileged and vulnerable children and women, through initiatives that would enhance their access to good healthcare and quality education.

According to her, the foundation envisions a society where no orphan and vulnerable child is deprived of quality education as well as women are empowered to achieve their potentials for the economic development of the country.

“Education is our responsibility and we want to ensure that all kids have access to quality education to sail smoothly in their academic pursuit.

“We render services to make life better for children and the less privileged in the society, especially at the rural areas and far-to-reach communities.

“We have carried out different interventions in health, education, women empowerment and civic engagements in the country,” she said.

The project director maintained that the foundation serves to increase the public understanding on the benefit of supporting educational advancement and supporting children and the less-privileged in the society.

The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Abdullahi Sabo, commended the NGO for their efforts, adding that the project would go a long way to impact on the educational pursuit of the children in the community.

Sabo, represented by Mr Bulus Baba, Director of Administration and Finance, Primary Healthcare Board FCT, called on stakeholders of the community to ensure that the structures are adequately maintained for the development of education in the area.

“The project has a lot to do on the lives of our children, it is indeed going to transform our children for generations to come and I am happy to associate myself with the foundation.

“What the Foundation is doing is saving lives and humanity and I want to call on the people of Gova, especially the youths and women, to partner in running the school activities.

“They should ensure that the structure is not allowed to waste but should be utilised for the benefit of our dear children through regular maintenance and partnering with the school authorities,” he said.

Alhaji Bako Shugaba, the Community Head, thanked the Foundation for its kind gesture and promised to ensure that the facilities are adequately maintained to encourage education in the area.

However, Shugaba who called for the construction of a Junior Secondary School and a Primary Healthcare Centre, called on other NGOs and relevant stakeholders to emulate the kind gesture of the Foundation. (NAN)
