Five out of the 73 kidnapped students of Government Day Secondary School Kaya in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State have been returned by the bandits.
It was however not clear if ransome were paid before they were set free by their captors.
NewsSpecng had reported that 73 students were kidnapped on Wednesday while writing their examinations in Government Day Secondary School Kaya in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
A former councilor of Kaya ward, Yahaya Kaya, confirmed the release of the five students to on Thursday.
Kaya said his daughter, Amina, was among the students released by the bandits.
Acccording to him, the five students were taken back to their hometown Kaya, around 01am on Thursday.
He maintained that they were all in good health.
