Releated Post

Doctoz, a United Kingdom-based organisation, has supported about 50 pregnant women under the lifesaving project of Rural Health Mission Nigeria in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau state, for the improvement of healthcare services delivery in the country.

Mr Ocholi Ogwu, the Doctoz’s Admin officer who disclosed this in a statement issued in Wase on Sunday, said the gesture was aimed at improving healthcare service delivery, especially at the rural communities.

Ocholi said there was a need to improve maternal health through innovative family planning models with the view to improving services and increase the number of family planning users in the country.

According to him, a midwife will be attending to the pregnant women in their houses to ensure that they are in good health before delivery and postnatal care.
However, he urged the pregnant women to adhere strictly to counsel from health workers on their feeding habits, medications and other instructions on what they ought to observe to have a safe delivery.

Many of the pregnant women who were participants at the event expressed gratitude to the organisations, insisting that others with similar gestures should see to the welfare of expectant mothers across the country.

They equally called on government at various levels to help organisations that are keen on taking care of pregnant women by providing the necessary environment which would ensure that their mission is largely achieved. (NAN)
