Dr Paul Enenche, Senior pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja has inaugurated the road constructed by the church in Karu-Jikwoyi District Center of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking during the inauguration of the over 550 metres road, Enenche stressed the need for Nigerians to always dedicate themselves to the service of God and humanity.
He said as Christians, we make a difference by what we give.
“This is what the church is all about. Please, do likewise. Start from somewhere, you may not commission a road, do the little that you can.
“The major assignment of leadership is the welfare of the people and I believe as we look more into the welfare of the people,we have more better lives,” he explained.
He, however, said the church had a permanent desk foe reaching out to people on monthly basis by empowering them to do lots of things such as trading and skilled work, accommodation issues and lots more.
He also noted that on quarterly basis, the church did mega outreach to people in the area including schools renovation and donation of transformers.
Aldo speaking at the event, Pastor Yakubu Usman, Resident Pastor in the area collaborated Enenche’s statement.
“The gospel is unto good works, we are the salt of the earth and a city set upon the hill cannot be hidden.
”So, this work is not to prove a point but a social responsibility of the church to alleviate and to help humanity. This is what the church is all about,” he said.
The Etsu of Karu, Bawa Jatta who expressed joy, appreciated the church for the successful completion and commissioning of the road.
“The church has deemed it fit to show love to this community. We will always keep the road clean.
“We don’t expect the senior pastor to maintain the road for us. He has played his part. It is our responsibility to maintain it.
” I am very glad and excited for this show of love, thank you Dr Paul Enenche,” the traditional ruler said.
The traditional ruler, however, called on highly placed persons in the country and corporate organisation to compliment government’s efforts toward community development.
He, therefore, blessed the church, asking God to reward it for the gestures, saying that before now, the road was a huge burden for motorists.
Gen. Chris Garba (Rtd.) commended the church for setting the pace for others to emulate.
He said that apart from winning souls, the church was moving in other areas of social responsibility which was hardly seen.
Rep. John Dyeh, a member of the National Assembly representing Gboko/Taka also thanked the church for its contributions to various communities.
” This is not the first time roads are constructed and commissioned by the church. I have lots to count. I have seen transformers being given to communities. I have seen schools built and many more.
“And I pray for much more to come,” he said.
Mr Alex Bako, a motorist said “It is a laudable project and it is going to be beneficial to all and sundry especially the immediate community where the church operated.
Dunamis Church had always contributed positively to the nation, calling on God to bless it and provide for it to do more.
Mr Simon Nehemiah, a resident of the community said the project had changed the face of the area, adding that the area was now looking like the city.
According to him, the community before now was very dusty, especially during the harmattan and moldy during rainy season. (NAN) (www.nannew.ng)
