NGO organizes medical outreach in Durumi community

An Abuja based Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Voice for Africa Development Initiative has organized a medical outreach in Durumi community in the Federal Capital Territory to mark this year’s Good Deeds Day.

Speaking during the event, the executive director of the organization, Ibhazukor Irabor Benjamin explained that the organization had earlier on carried out a needs assessment to ascertain which community is best fit for medical Intervention.

He added that the community has been found to have many residents suffering from various illnesses with financial challenges being a major factor prompting the group to conduct the outreach to enable them live a normal life again.

Ibhazukor disclosed that 200 hundred individuals were planned for adding that the organidation will be glad if all who visit the outreach ground get all the needed support they needed to make them whole again.

Chief of Durumi, Chief Yohanna while appreciating the group for the kind gesture also pointed out that many of the inhabitant of the community will benefit from the outreach ranging from free eye test and treatment, Blood Pressure, Tuberculosis test and treatment, talks on Drug Abuse and misuse, Nutrition and Child Development.

The exercise followed an awareness walk in the community to create awareness of the importance of checking one’s health, blood pressure and eyes sights. (NAN)
