The Police in Abuja have killed a fleeing robbery suspect.
The deceased sustained gunshot injuries and was taken to the hospital where the doctor confirmed him dead while receiving treatment, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command spokesperson, ASP Yusuf Mariam, said in a statement on Sunday.
She said the deceased was part of a gang robbing victims along Kubwa Garden
Three other suspects, Mariam said, were arrested by operatives of the Kubwa Division.
The suspects, all male are Abubakar Isa, 20; Abdullahi Abdul 23; and Mubarak Usman 25.
According to the statement, the suspects confessed they were responsible for terrorising the Kubwa axis of Abuja.
Recovered from them were three cutlasses, one dagger, one cutter, two laptops, nine mobile phones, two plasma TV and jewelries.
The police spokesperson said efforts were in top gear to arrest other suspects who escaped.
The statement also revealed the FCT Police Command has arrested six suspects for car snatching and armed robbery along Kubwa, Garki and Lokoja axis.
Amongst the suspects are Beneth Idiwogu, 31; Uche Victor,37; and Julius Kilotomo 22, Mariam said.
Exhibits recovered from them were two silver-coloured Toyota Corolla, two silver-coloured Toyota RAV4 and one black coloured Lexus.
She said the suspects, all male, were arrested during different coordinated intelligence operations by the Command’s Anti-Car Theft Unit.
The suspects confessed to being members of the notorious syndicate terrorising the FCT, the statement indicated.
The suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of the investigation, she said.
The police implored residents to always report all suspicious movements.
