A ceramic figurine of the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, is currently on sale on Chinese online shopping platforms between 999 yuan (N63,172) to 3,999 yuan (N252,877) depending on the size.
The statue is designed with Trump’s face lowered and his interlaced hands resting between his lap. It is about 5-foot tall.
According to Global Times, the seller labelled it, “Trump, who knows Buddhism better than anyone.”
“Most people just bought it for fun,” the seller told the Global Times, adding that though he made only 100 pieces, he had received “dozens” of orders.
A buyer in Shanghai told GT that he bought the statue because he wanted it to remind him of Trump.
“Trump can also be regarded as a representative of an era and extreme egoism. Now the era has passed but I want the statue to remind me: Don’t be too Trump,” he said.
