The Abuja Furniture Makers Association, has called on the Federal Government to support artisans with adequate loans to enable them boost their businesses for economic development of the country.
Mr Daniel Akhigbe, the Chairman of the association made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during the enforcement of a Judgment passes in favour of the association by an Abuja High Court at Court 4, Mataitama over a landed property.
According to him, the judgment in favour of the association (Defendant/Counterclaimant) is to take possession of the property situated at the back of Zenith Bank Plc beside the boundary fence of International Building Materials Market Dei-Dei Abuja.
“What you are seeing here is a great thing that we have been expecting from the Court, its an order given to us as enforcement to the Abuja Furniture Makers Association as the Counterclaimant of the property.
“We thank God for what we just experienced, although its not easy job but we thank God that He started it with us and ended the battle with us.
“Today I am happy that Abuja Furniture Makers Association have a property and I want to thank the lawyer who has been there with us from the beginning as we started this fight together in the court.
“I so much thank God for his life that God used him to deliver us just like David in the wilderness and I know that the plaintiffs will go for appeal but they will fail.
“As we have won the case, we want to develop the place so I want to call on the Federal Government to help the artisans so that we can boost our business,” he said.
The counsel to the Abuja Furniture Makers Association, David Aigbefoh Esq. said the enforcement excersis is a product of the Judgment obtained from Court 4, FCT High Court on the October 13, 2020 .
He confirmed that the judgment was in favour of Incorporated Trustee of Abuja Furniture Makers Association Dei-Dei as the first Defendant and Counterclaimant.
The counsel said since the court has awarded the land to the association, it was left for them to deal with the land however they deem fit for them. (NAN)
