It was a last minute change of heart for Saratu Aliyu that prevented her marraige to Aliyu Ibrahim from eminent collapse.
Saratu had on December 7, 2020 approached the Upper Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja seeking divorce from her marriage to Aliyu on the ground that she no longer have feelings for her husband.
The mother of six said even though her husband takes good care of her and provides everything she and her kids need, she deprived him sex because she no longer loved him.
She pleaded with the court to free her from the marriage, which had already produced six children.
The marraige was therefore heading for the rock at the time the case first came up for hearing last December as Saratu was adamant about walking away from the marriage. Not even the plea from her husband would make her change her mind.
But on a second thought, Saratu did a u-turn as she told the Court on Tuesday that she has decided to stay in the marriage.
Saratu said she had decided to follow the wise counsel of her parents who pleaded with her and after much reconsideration, she is willing to reunite with her husband.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim happy about the outcome apologized to his wife and promised to ignore Aisha’s shortcomings for the sustainablity of the marriage.
Hon. Bashir Danmaisule who presided over the case adviced the couples to work together to avoid the eventuality of divorce.
He therefore struck out the case.
