Police in Abuja on Tuesday foiled armed robbery operations at the Gwarimpa part of the city.
Two suspected armed robbers were gunned down in the process.
The deceased, who were members of a four-man gang were killed while robbing their victims at 7th Avenue, Gwarimpa, in the early hours of Tuesday.
A statement by the FCT police spokesman, ASP Mariam Yusuf, said computer gadgets, mobile phones and a huge sum of money were recovered from the criminals.
The statement titled, ‘Police foil robbery attack at Gwarimpa,’ read, “Two members of the gang met their death after attempting to escape with the stolen items while the others fled.
“Fortunately, all the stolen items including computer gadgets, mobile phones and a huge sum of money were recovered by police operatives from Gwarimpa.”
The police have also launched a manhunt for a gang which attacked and killed a resident at Apo-Dutse and injured his security guard.
The statement said the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, has ordered a manhunt for the fleeing suspects while commiserating with the families and friends of the deceased.
