President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, by three months.
Adamu’s tenure expired on Monday having attain the maximum retirirement age amd year in service.
Announcing this to State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari, Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, said the decision was to allow for proper selection of a successor.
This decision was however contravene the recent signed into law the police service Act, which is against extension of tenure for Inspector General of Police.
